India slams Pakistan for coveting J&K, demands it to vacate POK

Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday squarely blamed Pakistan for the present unrest in Jammu and Kashmir and also said that the neighbouring country is “sponsoring” terrorism in India.

Replying to a debate on the situation in Kashmir in the Lok Sabha, Singh assured the house that the government would be successful in restoring normalcy in Kashmir in spite of Pakistan’s sustained efforts. “Numerous injured have lost their eyesight due to use of pellet guns”, added the ambassador. He said Pakistan would continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. According to the Press Trust of India, he requested the Lahore High Court to order an FIR against the Indian leader under murder and terrorism sections of Pakistan’s Penal Code and Anti-Terrorism Act.

“Kashmir can not be accepted as an internal matter of India as it has been declared a disputed territory by the United Nations”, claimed Pakistan’s Prime Minister, challenging New Delhi’s claim that Kashmir belongs to India simply because they occupy the territory.

“On this occasion, I would like to stress that the government of Pakistan will on every occasion and every forum raise its voice in support of our Kashmiri brothers”, said Ahmad. “Kashmiriyat has no place for haiwaniyat (barbarism), it is only about insaniyat (humanity)”.

Rajnath said despite provocations from stone pelters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi instructed “maximum restraint” by security forces while dealing with youngsters. We need to see the issue in a correct perspective.

“We seek guidance from you all as the parties here have worked in Kashmir for decades”, added.

“Filing an application by an Indian organisation against PM Nawaz Sharif (for declaring Hizbul commander Burhan Wani and observing black day in this connection) in an Indian court is a point-scoring from the Indian government”, he said. “India demands that Pakistan must fulfil the obligation to vacate its illegal occupation of PoK”.

India also asked Pakistan to ensure the safety and security of the Indian high commission and its officials in the country in view of the threat of marches and protests at the mission.

He also said: “Severing ties with India over the issue is no solution to the issue of Kashmir”.

While reiterating his condemnation over the continuous Indian oppression, the Prime Minister said the brutal use of force is a blatant violation of fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people which no civilized society permits.

Kashmir’s largest anti-India street protests in recent years erupted after government forces killed a top rebel leader on July 8. He was immensely popular amongst the masses in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK), particularly with the youth. Curfew has been imposed for last ten days and Kashmiri people are not allowed to bring necessary things from markets.
