More peaceful gatherings are planned for this weekend.

“No justice. No peace”.

When demonstrators filled the streets of Dallas to speak out against the killings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling, the local police department documented the march on Twitter.

It says having Vancouver police on the ground to perform a civil service is understandable, but having officers participate on a float is “inappropriate and insulting” to those who made Pride celebrations possible. When the protest began to move on down another street, occupying two lanes of traffic, four squad cars cruised behind them at a crawl, with their blue lights flashing.

Vancouver Police spokesperson Randy Fincham says they are working with Black Lives Matter Vancouver as well as the Pride Society that organizes the Parade to alleviate any concerns.

“He’s actually backtracking in terms of what we asked him to do: to talk about the epidemic of policing and minority communities, to really identify the problem, to acknowledge the disparities and to come behind us as a black president especially”, said Ashley Yates, an organizer in Oakland, California, who attended the 2014 session.

Pastor Charlotte Williams had a similar message of frustration, saying she’s sick of double standards when it comes to law enforcement.

But protesters with CCJ weren’t the only ones in Miller Park.

People came with signs, and chanted calls for police accountability and equality.

Channel 4 asked the organizer of the protest about their comments.

“When I hear the hashtag or see the banner ‘Black Lives Matter, ‘” he said, “it just brings to my mind personally that we have to be inclusive”. “These officers don’t profile”. It posted photos of smiling officers standing with activists and described controlling traffic to make sure the marchers were safe.

“We deal with people saying stuff to us”, said Assistant Chief Tracy Arnold.

An attorney cited for contempt of court in municipal court Friday and given five days in jail for wearing a Black Lives Matter button has promised not to wear the button in court while her case is appealed. But not Thursday night. We will always fly! “We need to be a community together, not apart”.

We continue thanking them for their service, for offering us protection, although almost every day we are presented evidence to the contrary. “We aren’t accepting that”, Pryor said.

“One city, one love”, the group chanted. “White people of conscience must forcefully reject this hatred immediately, ‘ said Patrisse Cullors, Co-Founder of Black Lives Matter”.

“They’re like heroes to us, and they’re supposed to represent the best of humanity, the best of what we can be”.

Somerville Mass. Somerville's mayor denied a request from police officers that the banner which has hung for nearly a year be removed and replaced
