Although, yet Kabali’s opening day collection in India is not confirmed, but some reliable sources have confirmed that the film possessing Rajini power has raked over 40 crores on its opening day.
While in the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi version, we saw a dramatic “we are a happy family” scenario, according to speculations from twitter, the Malay version of the film which received a massive response in Malaysia has Kabali surrendering to the police after killing all the bad guys.
Tipped to have been made on a budget of Rs 80 crore, “Kabali” even before its release ended up raking in around Rs 200 crore from its pre-release business. According to Indian Express, it also created box office history in America by registering the highest viewership for an Indian film premiere.
Kuala Lampur: Hundreds of Tamil fans in Malaysia braved the rain and traffic jam to be in the theatres to watch the premiere of superstar Rajinikanth’s latest movie “Kabali”, which is set in the city. With good numbers coming on Sunday, Madaari will surely enjoy a decent opening weekend.
It was all there for Kabali, only this time it was pumped up several-fold by the power of social media and unprecedented marketing hype for a Rajinikanth movie.
Kabali is overtaking the whole other recent releases in India. It’s total has been INR Rs 8 crore. The real test will start from Monday when WOM and reviews start to play an important role.
The Rajinikanth-starrer Kabali hit the screens in India to much fanfare and fan frenzy.
The movie has been released in more than 4000 screens all over the globe along with UAE, US and UK.
Rajinikanth’s “Kabali” may have opened to mix reviews, but as often is the case with the superstar’s films, reviews have little impact on box-office collections.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh also stated that the film has become a worldwide phenomenon, tweeting, “If this is not EARTH-SHATTERING, what is?” Now all we can say is, Kabali isn’t any “regular” film. Directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Kalaipuli Thanu of V Creations, the movie also stars Radhika Apte, Kishore, Dinesh, Dhansikaa, Kalaiarasan and Winston Chao.
