“Expulsion of Dayashanker Singh from the party is not sufficient as it requires legal action under which he should be arrested and be sent to jail for a lesson to others to restrain from indulging in such acts”, the meeting resolved.

On Saturday, it was the BJP’s turn to take to the streets to protest the use of foul language by BSP leaders against their expelled leader Daya Shankar Singh’s family.

Pathak said as the Singhs family members have expressed threat, they should be provided proper security.

Meanwhile, BJP workers in Lucknow attempted to ghearo the Chief Ministers residence and the collectorate office. When questioned about the remarks made by BSP leaders, Mayawati said, “his mother, daughter or wife should have condemned what he said but they maintained silence”.

Siddiqui, instead, claimed that the FIR, lodged by Dayashankar’s family members, was a BJP “ploy” to “save” the expelled leader, who is absconding after being booked for making derogatory remarks against Mayawati.

Besides, it was made a decision to take out Tiranga march up to booth level from August 16 to mark 70 years of countrys independence.

Earlier, the BJP asked Mayawati to tender an apology in connection with abusive language used by her party leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui against Dayashankar Singh’s daughter.

The row over Dayashankar’s comments seemed to be on the back burner for now after Siddiqui allegedly said “Bring Dayashankar’s daughter…” This is an insult to the woman; sisters and daughters.

He had said that “Mayawati is breaking the dream of Kanshi Ram into pieces”.

“There was an attempt to instigate violence and riot during the protest by highlighting differences on caste lines”, she alleged in the complaint, adding that slogans at the protest amounted to outraging the modesty of a woman.

Mrs Tetra Devi, mother of Dayashankar Singh, said that the family had nothing to do with politics and his statement. “Behenji had to go through a very untoward incident on June 2, 1995, and the BJP helped and protected her in that hour of crisis”, said Maurya.
