“Empire” co-stars Trai Byers and Grace Gealey are reportedly engaged to be married just months after reports of their off-screen romance surfaced.

Gealey, 30, who plays Anika Calhoun in the show, has kept quiet about to her relationship to Byers, 33, so far.
Grace celebrated her 31st birthday on Sunday and it’s been claimed Trai organised the surprise to end them all: a proposal.
According to Us Weekly source, Byers ‘surprised her on her birthday. They celebrated all night.’.
The 32-year-old actor made their engagement very significant, especially for Gealey, because he proposed to the actress at her 31st birthday party on July 26.
Alongside a photo collage of their evening, Trai wrote on Instagram: “Had so much fun celebrating @gracegealey’s life!!” Interestingly enough, Byers recently told Essence that he’d choose Gealey’s character Anika over Taraji P Henson’s Cookie on the show. Thank you @kinmontchicago for hosting us.

Regardless, congratulations to the happy couple. A caption for the picture read, “To all who sent greetings, called, messaged and came out to celebrate yesterday, thank you. And looking forward to an incredibly unforgettable year”, she wrote. “There was an instant attraction, people working on the show are aware about it”, a source said, whilst confirming the two were dating.
