Hillary Clinton’s Popularity Decreases In New NBC/WSJ Poll

An opening for Biden’s candidacy is only a start, though.

Her ratings have seen an overall 15-point swing since the latest NBC/WSJ poll in June, when 44 percent of likely voters expressed a positive view of Clinton and 40 percent viewed her unfavorably.

“He’s a little bit behind”, said Tom Henderson, the Democratic chairman in Polk County, Iowa, the home of Des Moines. He has had little interaction with a “draft Biden” group pushing him to run, and has yet to look for office space in early voting states or raise money for a potential bid. Interesting, though, that Vice President Joe Biden is looking at getting in the race.

Dowd, who has often been critical of Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, said a campaign by Biden might be complicated for him because he has a good relationship with Hillary Clinton and respects the Democratic Party’s desire to put a woman in the White House.

While their confidence in Biden trumps that which they have in Clinton, voters generally don’t believe that Biden should make a third bid for the White House. The tragedies he has endured add acompelling personal narrative that demonstrates the kind of resilience thatwould serve him well as President.

Somebody with the extensive experience of the Vice President, and somebody who has made such a significant contribution to the safety and prosperity of his country should be afforded the opportunity to make that decision on a timeframe that he chooses, he said. She’s also scheduled to appear at the Democratic National Committee’s Summer Meetings in Minneapolis on that day.

Environmentalists have criticized Clinton’s rationale for staying neutral on the pipeline, suggesting that by her logic, she shouldn’t be commenting on any of the foreign policy issues that arose while she was in Obama’s cabinet, even though she has. The Clinton team has already reserved some airtime, too-a combined $7.7 million for in Iowa and New Hampshire between the beginning of November and early February.

The reality is that a Biden run in the short-term would divide the anti-Hillary vote and he’s something that Sanders is not.

But, should he run, he would have to decide whether to take his former ally and fellow former senator head on and exploit her vulnerabilities, or only pounce if and when Clinton, who has been dogged by scandal, veers into trouble on the campaign trail.

“They’re definitely warning signs and probably do leave room for a candidate to come in and challenge her”, Hunter said. “I am fluent in Clinton-speak”, he said. “So you can’t really ask for much more than that”.

And Clinton’s hoping her beloved mother, Dorothy Rodham, who died in 2011, will help her do that.
