Under Fire, Dem Chair Wasserman Schultz To Leave
“I don’t think she is qualified to be the chair of the DNC, not only for these terrible emails, which revealed the prejudice of the DNC, but also because we need a party that reaches out to working people and young people, and I don’t think her leadership style is doing that”, he said.

Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, waded into the Democratic in-fighting and suggested that Clinton follow Wasserman Schultz out the door. Sanders had called earlier Sunday for her departure.
The head of the party announced her resignation after the publication of emails that indicated party leaders had preferred Clinton over rival Bernie Sanders during the primaries.
Daniel Podolsky, a Stony Brook University student who helped found “Sea Wolves for Sanders” and came to Philadelphia for the convention, concurred.
Mr Trump cast himself as the law-and-order candidate in a nation suffering under crime and hobbled by immigration, as the GOP convention stuck to a gloom-and-doom theme.
The controversy overshadowed preparations in Philadelphia for the four-day coronation of Clinton as the Democratic nominee to face Trump in the November 8 White House election. As a Jew and strong advocate for Israel, she also provided a bulwark for Obama against Republican efforts at the time to paint him as anti-Israel.
Blowback to the emails came from all corners of the political world Sunday – including Clinton supporters and Donald Trump. “Her leadership of the DNC has meant that we had someone who brought Democrats together not just for my re-election campaign, but for accomplishing the shared goals we have had for our country”, he said.
Sanders will address the convention Monday night, and Obama will speak on Wednesday night. Bernie Sanders in his own statement said Wassermann Schultz made the right decision for the party. Timothy M. Kaine of Virginia, who is seen by some as insufficiently progressive.
“If they think they can win without half the party, let them lose”, said Andrew Fader, 27, of NY, who was wearing a “Bernie” T-shirt on Sunday near the Liberty Bell.
Bernie Sanders supporters expect about 3,000 protesters to join them in a march from City Hall to a park near the convention site in the afternoon.
Mr Solomon said he believes a “vast majority” of Mr Sanders’ delegates supported these kinds of protests to express their dismay.
State Sen. Tick Segerblom, another Sanders delegate, said it was good Wasserman Schultz stepped down before the convention.
Liberal Sanders supporters pushed for changes to the party nominating process at a meeting of the party rules committee Saturday.
There are now 4,763 total delegates, and 712 of them are superdelegates.
The cache of more than 19,000 emails leaked on Friday revealed DNC officials explored ways to undermine Sanders’ insurgent presidential campaign, including raising questions about whether Sanders, who is Jewish, was really an atheist.
How the emails were stolen hasn’t been confirmed.
Donald Trump became the official Republican nominee last week.

More than 5,000 delegates are among the 50,000 people set to attend the gathering at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia, which is expected to culminate with Clinton being named the party’s official nominee for president.
