After convention, Clinton and Kaine to visit Ohio

The Trump campaign attacked Clinton’s choice of running mate, dubbing the senator from Virginia “Corrupt Kaine”. Bernie fought for nothing!”. He learned Spanish during a mission trip to Honduras while in law school.

Smith said she’d like the Clinton camp allow an actual debate on a plank calling for a single-payer care for all Medicare style health plan, as well as language opposing the Trans Pacific Partnership. “I think right now every Hispanic is paying close attention because it scares us that Donald Trump could win”, Villacorta said. “He’s the “you’re fired” guy”, Kaine said of Trump.

As a scandal-free centrist and Spanish-speaking Catholic, the longtime politician from a key swing state is universally acknowledged as a safe pick for Hillary Clinton, and her camp seems convinced that his clean record will only benefit her quest for the White House.

Clinton told the battleground state audience that Kaine is “a progressive who likes to get things done”. “I mean it’s an embarrassment of riches”, Kaine responded.

Ms. Clinton’s choice may help her shore up support in the swing state of Virginia, but isn’t likely to put the purple state solidly in the blue category.

Sanders admitted “there are a lot of reasons why one loses”, but he did not blame the Democratic National Committee, even after emails leaked by WikiLeaks on Friday indicate the party was more supportive of Clinton’s campaign than his.

Like President Obama, however, Clinton would also face challenges in Congress in getting her agenda enacted.

Kaine, 58, is a welder’s son and grew up in Kansan City where his father owned a small metalworking shop.

Sanders, who has endorsed Clinton, encouraged his supporters to vote for the ticket, saying the top priority in the November election is to defeat Trump.

Clinton opposed the TPP during the primary against Sanders, citing concerns about job protections and national security. A Clinton campaign aide said Kaine made clear “in the course of discussions” that he shares Clintons opposition to the TPP in its current form. Asked by Pelley if he would be ready, Kaine said he would.

Hillary Clinton now has another main man in her life, at least in the realm of her presidential bid.

Kaine talked about his time as a civil rights lawyer representing victims of housing discrimination in Richmond, Virginia, before breaking into politics. He’s never run after big money. Hes always run after ‘How can I make a difference?”.
