Cristiano Ronaldo is hopeful of being fit to play in Real Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup clash against Sevilla in Norway on August 9.

The 31-year-old enjoyed ‘the best season’ of his career last year, scoring 51 goals in 48 games as Real Madrid won the Champions League, before winning Euro 2016 with Portugal.
However, to Ronaldo’s credit, he came out to inspire his team and was an influential figure on the sidelines as Portugal won their maiden Euro 2016 title.
He already has a museum on Madeira dedicated to his life and work, which opened in 2013, and the airport caps it off. Lionel Messi doesn’t even have as much as a runway in his name.
And Vázquez told Real Madrid’s official website: “Right now I don’t think there’s any doubt”.
“Obviously it’s something I want, I have mentioned it many times, and the club also wants it. But we only spoke briefly, and there will be more concrete things to come”, he said.
President of the Regional Government Miguel Albuquerque announced the move to dub the island’s main airport “Madeira Cristiano Ronaldo Airport”, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Mirror).
“We are thinking about the Super Cup, the beginning is always a bit hard, but we are focused on the Super Cup”. None of the great world players would have done something like that.
