According to local media, most of the 280 children were below 14 years of age and were residents of Husain Khanwala village, near Kasur. They will be unable to flee their destiny.
The police have arrested a 13-year-old boy for having sex with another child. The scandal broke last week when the victims’ parents clashed with the police during a protest when they blamed the authorities for failing to prosecute the criminals. Some of the clips showed that some of the victims were abused for more than an hour.
The gang used the videotapes of the assaults to blackmail the children and their families.
The parents also allege that the police tried to cover up the scandal and the criminals used their influence to avoid being charged.
Pakistan’s Punjab government today announced setting up a judicial commission to investigate the alleged sex abuse of 280 children in a village bordering India. Movies of those assaults have been filmed and hundreds of copies are believed to have been bought in Hussain Khanwala village in Kasur district, the police stated.
So far six alleged abusers have been arrested, five of whom are remanded in custody. The “producers” recorded the videos at different locations – in the open fields, washrooms, bedrooms, and at deserted houses.
Six people have been arrested in connection with the case, while three suspects are absconding. Thus far, seven individuals have been reportedly arrested by the police over the case that has shocked the nation of 180 million.
A court has handed over 7 accused to police for investigation, he said, adding the main accused Haseeb Amir has confessed his crime. “This is creating a lot of controversy in Pakistan”, she said. “They made the video of my son in 2011”. We have been paying money to the blackmailers for the last four years. Victim’s families said they were pressured by a local political figure to withdraw the allegations. “The affected households shall be supplied with justice at any value”, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was quoted as saying by.
