Australian driver Will Power has claimed fourth spot on the grid for Sunday’s (Monday AEST) Toronto IndyCar. After a lap at 107.263 miles per hour in his Penske, Castroneves will start on the outside of the first row. Dixon is now one pole victory behind Toronto’s Paul Tracy, who has 25 in his career.

“I’m really pleased with the result today”, the native of nearby Oakville noted, “We got back into the Fast Six after two weeks of shotgunning the field”. I was all down and out.

“Team called me in just at the last minute and flawless timing”, Power said. “They are like, ‘Keep going, keep going”. “If there was something major wrong, I think they would have seen it already”.

“It’s great to be back on the pole”. “We are thrilled that they are joining us to celebrate 30 years of racing on the streets of Toronto with such an impactful presence”.

“There’s no doubt this is going to be a highlight day in the career reel, memory reel, but hopefully we can better it in the future”, Hinchcliffe said.

“It’s not just that I haven’t had great luck here, it’s that I’ve had insanely bad luck here”, Hinchcliffe said.

Second fastest was Helio Castroneves in a Team Penske Chevrolet.

The issue with the vehicle – and even the driver couldn’t explain it — had something to do with an inability to get the auto to optimum top speed and to hold it there.

Newgarden enters Sunday’s race on the temporary street course as one of the favorites.

“I think that’s racing”, he said.

“The hand is really what’s bothering me, it’s going to be a problem”, Newgarden said.

Hinchcliffe just squeaked into the second round of qualifications by six hundredths of a second, completing his best lap in 1:00.6291. “I guess the next thing to do is to make the Fast Six”. Pagenaud finished ninth at Toronto.

“The DeVilbiss Chevy was really good”. All credit to (engineer) Jonathan (Diuguid). Meanwhile, the vehicle careened off the wall with significant right-front force, ending his day.

While several drivers were left ruing their cars’ handling on one type of tire or the other, or complaining at how much the red tires had been chewed up by the twisty and revised Turn 8/9/10/11 complex, Pagenaud said he had no such worries. Back in the game here’. At the restart, Dixon was 13th and Pagenaud was 14th when moments earlier they had been first and second. But again, we did not want to wait until the end, since the track always got a little bit better, we did not want to wait till the end because of a yellow or red flag coming out and then would have screwed up with our laps because we knew we were only dealing with two laps. “Ganassi is not a rookie team”.

“Hawksworth made a mistake in Turn 3, a big mistake, so he knew I’d be there trying to pass in Turn 5, because the lap before, I had tried it. But I was there, and he just turned anyway”. His margin of victory over runner-up Helio Castroneves of 1.5 seconds was accomplished on the final lap of the race, which went green following a late caution.
