Colbert stands at the podium and announces it’s his honor to begin the “2016 Republican Hungry for Power Games”, before security drags him off the stage.
The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert welcomed two guests from cable TV’s past on Monday’s episode: Jon Stewart and “Stephen Colbert”.
With a blue wig, a smart black suit and a furry mate in his arm, Colbert popped up on the stage on Sunday as organizers were getting things in order, pretending to black out as soon as he began talking about in governor Mike Pence. Colbert expressed his excitement saying, “That’s what I love about this week, is that the Republican convention, you don’t actually know what’s going to happen because they don’t know what’s going to happen”.
The comedian began by announcing Trump’s pick for the Republican vice presidential nominee, pronouncing that he has “formed an alliance” with in governor Mike Pence, then letting his head droop forward for a few seconds. In separate segment, which people caught glimpses of on Sunday night, Colbert went to Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena, in character.
Donald Trump is expected to be named the official Republican presidential nominee on Thursday; he has chosen Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate.
Luckily one of the nation’s best political minds, Stephen Colbert, is on hand to give this the coverage it deserves. See how to use and download it in order to watch the Republican National Convention, stream speeches and more.

We have lamented in this space before that Stephen Colbert has, at times, struggled to find his footing in a post-Colbert Report world.
