Donald Trump says US could pull out of WTO
Republican White House nominee Donald Trump suggests the United States could pull out of the World Trade Organization if he is elected president. When “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd told him that some of those hikes “aren’t going to get through” the WTO, the Republican nominee responded in kind.

“Doesn’t matter. Then we’re going renegotiate or we’re going to pull out. These trade deals are a disaster, the World Trade Organisation is a disaster”.
The 70-year-old Trump said the WTO was trying to stop his plan to tax American companies that move operations overseas to cut costs, citing the Carrier Corporation as an example.
“I’m the only one that said Brexit is going to happen”, said the billionaire.
Donald Trump takes the stage on the last day of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, the United States, July 21, 2016.
After spending 16 months criss-crossing America from Iowa to Florida to cover an incredible United States election, I was prepared for anything when I arrived in Cleveland this week.
The countries Trump mentioned which have to pay for the U.S. protection included Japan, Germany, South Korea and Saudi Arabia. Although his campaign suggested at the time that the statement had been taken out of context, Mr Trump repeated the argument on Sunday.
“We have countries within North Atlantic Treaty Organisation taking advantage of us”.
“With me, I believe they’re going to pay”.
“If they don’t pay, Chuck, this isn’t 40 years ago”.
