Here’s what Bernie Sanders had to say about Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s resignation

Embattled Democratic Party chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz said on Sunday she is resigning, following a leak of emails suggesting an insider attempt to hobble the campaign of Hillary Clinton’s rival in the White House primaries Bernie Sanders. The Florida congresswoman said that she would step down after the convention. They marched towards the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia where the convention kicks off on Monday, chanting “Hey Hey!”

“Everyone kind of knew (the Democratic party was against Bernie Sanders), but that doesn’t mean it will change now that it’s proven”.

Party hacks are also hoping that President Clinton, slated to speak on Tuesday, and President Obama, who will follow him on Wednesday, will defuse any residual tension, and bring about a modicum of unity before Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speech on Thursday night (when she will be introduced by her daughter Chelsea Clinton). And Clinton will be introduced by her daughter, Chelsea. “There’s simply no one better at taking the fight to the Republicans than Debbie”.

In a statement, Wasserman Schultz described Clinton as “a friend I have always believed in and know will be a great president”. His reasoning, however, appeared to contradict Clinton’s response when he said his disappointment with Wasserman Schultz was not just because of the “prejudice” that she and her staff showed throughout the campaign, but the signal she sends to potential voters about where the country should be headed. Wasserman Schultz’s emails only put the Democratic Party at risk, but Hillary Clinton’s emails put all of America at risk. Rep. Marcia Fudge was named the new convention chair. The protests this week in Philadelphia include demonstrations outside the convention called “Crash the Party” and “Shut Down The DNC”.

In an interview with CNN, Sanders, once again, called on Schultz to resign.

“We’re going to keep organizing and keep the pressure on Hillary”, Sanders supporter Jack Lieberman said.

“I always said that Debbie Wasserman Schultz was overrated”.

Clinton has had a long-standing relationship with the DNC and Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Bernie Sanders, will have his moment – with his 1,900 delegates to cheer him on. “Ho Ho! HRC has got to go” (HRC=Hillary Rodham Clinton) and “Feel the Bern”, although the nomination process is all but over.

But there’s drama for the Democrats before the convention has even started.

She will not have a speaking role at this week’s convention, according to several reports.

The controversy was a blow to a party keen on projecting stability in contrast to the volatility of Republican candidate Donald Trump, who was formally nominated at a convention in Cleveland last week.

Former DNC Chair and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who is a Clinton supporter, called the leak “very disturbing” if true and told NPR that the chair’s job should be “to remain neutral”.

“The emails just proved what we believed to begin with”, Dora Bouboulis of Vermont said as she marched in a demonstration.

Jones said, “I’m upset about a lot of stuff”. “What’s disturbing to us is that experts are telling us Russian state actors broke into the DNC, stole these emails, and other experts are now saying that the Russians are releasing these emails for the goal of actually of helping Donald Trump”, Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook told CNN.
