Allardyce To Face Media As England Boss

Allardyce, who looked relaxed to the extent he dispensed with the formal attire of a tie, said his strength was his well-earned reputation as a man capable of going in and motivating the players to believe in themselves.

Moyes was swiftly appointed the new manager at the Stadium of Light, after Sam Allardyce was appointed as the new manager of the England national team. “I saved clubs and never got relegated, and they are not the same as winning the FA Cup or Capital One Cup, but they are big achievement”.

Black Cats chairman Ellis Short was thrilled to have finally secured a man he says he has wanted to appoint on five occasions – including when Allardyce took over from Dick Advocaat last October.

But with the former Bolton, Newcastle, Blackburn and West Ham manager keen to work with his players before competitive action begins, the Football Association have now secured a friendly against the Croatians as preparation for the Slovakia game.

First on the agenda for Allardyce was the future of Rooney and whether the forward would continue his captaincy under the new regime and “Big Sam” didn’t give much away.

Jeremain Lens says a week in France is an “important” staging post in Sunderland’s pre-season plans, and the ideal opportunity to impress David Moyes. “We will adapt our style to play different opponents”.

“I have recognized control over a foremost English club, with an unprecedented sponsorship, and I’m anticipating working in the Premier League yet again”, said Moyes.

Moyes has managed more than 800 senior games in club football and boasts a wealth of top-level experience.

Asked about the pressure of being England boss, the Dudley-born boss said he can deal with it, despite being under the microscope constantly.

“I’m here because I want the challenge, because I think I can make the team better and I think I’m tough enough to take it so bring it on lads”. The bonding of a team is exceptionally important while we are all together, trying to create a good team spirit and have some fun.
