The blast comes a day after so-called Islamic State (IS) said it was behind a suicide bomb attack on a security checkpoint in Baghdad.

The blast at the entrance to the town of Khales also wounded 37, according to Diyala province police spokesman Colonel Ghalib al-Attiyah and health department spokesman Faris al-Azzawi.
A suicide bombing claimed by the Islamic State (IS) group killed at least 15 people in a Shiite area of northern Baghdad on Sunday as per security and medical officials said.
Iraq has faced wave after wave of attack, most of which ISIL has claimed responsibility for. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to release information. The Associated Press could not verify the authenticity of the statement, but it was posted on a militant website commonly used by the extremists.
This attack follows a suicide bombing in Baghdad by the IS which killed 21 people and injured 35.
At least 20 people were killed in Sunday’s attack.
The Sunni terror group, which has carved out a self-declared caliphate in parts of Iraq and Syria, has been losing territory, most recently in the Iraqi city of Falluja.

But its ability to target areas in the core of Baghdad may force a delay of the Iraqi government’s long-awaited desire to retake Mosul, the largest city remaining under IS control, analysts said.
