Empire spinoff in the works

After a record-breaking first season, “Empire” returns as the number one series on broadcast television.

“Star” would follow on the huge success of “Empire”, which arrived in January and became the biggest hit of the TV season – averaging 17 million viewers weekly. But the excitement over their nominations was overshawdowed when “Empire” creator Lee Daniels slammed the Television Academy over what he felt was an Emmy snub.

Ever the company to nurture and expand its properties into different mediums, the only caveat that has been restricting the rich world of X-Men to the silver screen has been licensing agreements between Fox and Marvel.

Also visible in this teaser are guest stars Chris Rock, Ludacris, and Marisa Tomei, because you can never have too many people starting shit on one TV show.

Season 2 will “open new doors” and tell new stories, but it will still be “Empire”, Chaiken promised.

The trailer for season two of Empire was revealed on Thursday, with the promo featuring a clip spotlighting the major standoff between siblings Jamal and Hakeem, who are rivalling over which of them will be more successful in the music industry.

“All we need to do is proceed to do ‘Empire, ‘ to inform the reality”, he stated.

Several months later, Eggleston says, she got a call from Miller saying that she was meeting with Lee Daniels and pitching him Eggleston’s life story. The more celebrities and stars we put on the show, the more it takes away from the fact that it’s a family show. “I say that probably 80 percent is Cookie and may 20 percent is Taraji…she can fly off the handle and say whatever she wants to”. “And you know what she means”.

With patriarch and Empire Entertainment founder Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) serving time for murder, there’s an inevitable power struggle happening back in the boardroom. “There is going to be a spinoff from Empire, without question”, he said. “We are blessed. God has blessed me to be employed and to be in front of you right now, and in a show that I enjoy going to work to. That in itself is fascinating to me and is stuff that I can relate to”.

When asked about the lawsuit, Daniels simply said: “Who’s that?” “This is another part of my life that I haven’t shared with anybody”.
