5 things to watch at the Democratic National Convention
Several union leaders and former Defence officialshave joined the list of speakers at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), which begins on Monday to nominate Hillary Clinton as their official presidential candidate for the White House.

The leaked emails clearly show DNC staffers rallying their support for Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders, instead of maintaining a neutral stance.
Wasserman Schultz was initially slated to preside over the convention as DNC chair, according to media reports.
But Sanders repeatedly voiced frustration with a DNC and party establishment he felt was stacked against him, and the resentment from Sanders and his supporters threatened to disrupt the convention.
“I would imagine that Hillary Clinton and her campaign – my guess is they’re going to call for [an] ‘investigation, ‘ but the truth is they were benefiting from it all”, Mr. Priebus said on “Fox and Friends”.
– Bernie’s big moment: Hillary Clinton’s main rival, Bernie Sanders, gives a prime time speech tonight and all eyes are on whether the Vermont senator can bring his loyal supporters back into the Democratic fold.
Georgia will be well-represented at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this week. Numerous members of the Minnesota delegation are still not sold on Clinton, even though Sanders endorsed her earlier this month. While party chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is stepping down soon, she will still have a convention role, which could draw jeers from Sanders delegates. “I look forward to serving as a surrogate for her campaign in Florida and across the country to ensure her victory”, Wasserman Schultz said in her statement.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz quit a few days after the publication of 19,000 hacked emails, which Mr Sanders said confirmed his belief that the national party had favoured Mrs Clinton during the contest. After a series of denials and suggestions the Clinton campaign was propping up the controversy, a Trump Organization staffer eventually acknowledged the error and took the blame. “The party leadership must also always remain impartial in the presidential nominating process, something which did not occur in the 2016 race”.
She faces an August 30 primary-election challenge for her congressional seat from Tim Canova, who has been backed by Sanders.
Donald Trump on Monday dismissed as a “joke” claims by Clinton’s campaign that Russian Federation is trying to help Trump by leaking the emails.
Still, Sanders delegate Courtney Rowe, 34, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, said “we are not here to disrupt for the goal of disruption”.
“He is more conservative than I am”. Number one, I think the DNC leak is just a disaster. Would I have preferred to see somebody like an Elizabeth Warren selected by Secretary Clinton?
On Sunday, Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said that it was “concerning last week that Donald Trump changed the Republican platform to become what some experts would regard as pro-Russian”.

In a surprisingly muted response to the resignation, Sanders said she had made the right decision but paid tribute to her “years of service”.
