Gray, who scored twice in Burnley’s 4-1 win, was incensed by the incident and took to Twitter to express his displeasure.
During the game on Saturday at the Northern Commercials Stadium, the Clarets supporter was asked to leave the stadium following repeated racial comments aimed at Bradford’s Mark Marshall, who reported the abuse to officials. “Still live in the stone ages I see!”
According to the Daily Mail, the supporter in question, who was accompanied with one other supporter accused of racism who left voluntarily, has denied the allegations.
“We would like to offer our honest apologies to the player involved and to Bradford City Football Club”, it read.
The police investigation is ongoing, but a statement from Bradford City provides further detail on the incident.
Burnley have announced that a supporter has been issued with an indefinite ban after allegedly racially abusing a Bradford City player during a pre-season friendly at the weekend.
“They refused to give any personal details and because the match was operated on an unreserved ticket basis we can not identify the individual involved”.

Burnley Football Club have released a statement saying they want to reiterate that they have a zero tolerance to behaviour like this – and they condemn discrimination of any type.
