Rotherham MP Sarah Champion “unresigns” and rejoins Corbyn team

Seema Malhotra, who resigned as shadow chief secretary to the Treasury last month in protest at Corbyn’s leadership of Labour, said she had evidence of three “illegal” attempts made to enter her office, two of which were successful.

It appears that Ms Murphy tried to use a key card to gain access to the room on 15 July, while Ms Malhotra was in her constituency. “We hope that others will rejoin the shadow cabinet and get on with the job of opposing the Government”, the spokesman said. “There is a small group out there willing to destroy our party just to get rid of Jeremy”.

“If you want to come for me and Jeremy Corbyn that’s up to you but don’t pick on staff who can’t defend themselves”. I’ve got a member of staff.she’s now anxious she’s going to lose her job and face prosecution because it’s been described as a break-in. I think she’s very talented.

“I have been around long enough, [this is] the type of stuff that we ultimately find out about, about who was involved… the 30-year rule”.

In order to examine the sheer ludicrousness of this claim it’s necessary to consider the events of the a year ago, and especially the last month or so.

In the same meeting, in response to the same question, John McDonnell shrugged his shoulders and said “if that’s what it takes”.

Outlining the behaviour expected of members, Mr M cNicol said: “F or a fair debate to take place, people must be able to air their views in an atmosphere of respect”. She is now anxious she will lose her job and face prosecution because it is being described as break-in. This has obviously been an error’.

Some 60% of town hall representatives in 250 knife-edge seats said they will vote for Mr Smith, compared with 28% who were likely to back Mr Corbyn, the survey by Angela Ruskin University found.

Now, Champion was just a frontbencher, not a full member of the shadow Cabinet.

“I have discovered that members of staff working for John McDonnell [shadow chancellor] and Corbyn have gained unauthorised entry into my office in Parliament”.

She told The Observer: ‘The implications of this are extremely serious.

Mr Smith described Seema Malhotra’s claim as an “internal little spat” but said staffers should not have entered the former shadow minister’s office without her permission.

The latest developments in the Labour leadership contest came as a new opinion poll put Corbyn on course for a heavy victory over Owen Smith.

“Anybody who thinks that that isn’t happening doesn’t live in the same world that I live in”. Tell us what we’ve done wrong, where we can be better. “We have got to stop them”, he impassionedly pleaded. The freakish story they came up with was that Jeremy Corbyn was to blame for Brexit even though he was considered by far the most trustworthy Labour politician during the debate and he delivered 63% of the Labour vote for Remain, while Tory supporters voted 58% in favour of Leave. In winning the support of 250,000 people he established the biggest properly democratic* mandate of any United Kingdom party leader in history.
