Kabali shatters all the box office collections
Fans of the 65-year-old actor also celebrated his return to the big screen on Thursday (July 21) by performing aarti, an offering normally reserved for Hindu deities, in front of a cutout of the actor in the theatre to cheers and much applause.

Kabali… Will be on 12,000 screens in the world.
Thanu first met Rajinikanth in 1978 when he was the distributor for the actor’s movie “Bairavi”.
This in essence means that Kabali is being seen across India in large numbers and that is liely because the film is receiving a good word-of-mouth appreciation. Its allure is mainly down to the phenomenon of Rajinikanth, who is one of India’s highest paid actors and inspires fanatical devotion among his fans. Be it Tamil Nadu, Kerala or Karnataka, all shows of the Thalaiva-starrer were sold out in the film’s opening weekend.
Although, yet Kabali’s opening day collection in India is not confirmed, but some reliable sources have confirmed that the film possessing Rajini power has raked over 40 crores on its opening day.

Its performance stoked global ambitions for the Tamil-language film industry, nicknamed “Kollywood” after the Kodambakkam district of Chennai where many studios are based.
The film, directed by Pa Ranjith, is a gangster drama and also stars Radhika Apte, Dhanshikaa and Kalaiarasan in key roles. Rajinikanth’s Kabali has not one but twelve reasons to rejoice.
Tens of thousands thronged theatres across India on Friday, with diehard fans doing the “Lungi Dance” to the beats of dhol in Tamil Nadu, where some offices had even declared a holiday. Even as mixed responses came in from the audience and critics alike, reviewers, Kabali is smashing box office records with its collections.

From premiere shows alone, the film has collected $2 million from the United States and Canada markets – where it released in over 400 screens – according to distribution company CineGalaxy Inc.
