He said India’s attempts to suppress the voice of Kashmiris is a clear manifestation of state-terrorism when in reality the Kashmir issue is recognised under the United Nations, and Pakistan has chose to approach the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to investigate the human rights violations and the recent wave of violence against the civilians in the India-held Kashmir by Indian forces.

In a strong attack on Pakistan over the Jammu and Kashmir unrest issue, Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said that the neighbour country is trying to destabilise India.

India also said Pakistan must stop deceiving the global community by holding “meaningless exercises such as the so-called elections in PoK”, adding that “Pakistan’s longing for the territory of J&K” had been exposed.

India also demanded that Pakistan must ensure full safety and security of the officials at the High Commission of India in Islamabad and their families.

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party’s media adviser Suhail Bukhari also said schools will be opened in at least four districts in Kashmir.

Mehbooba convened the meeting to build a consensus on the measures to be taken for restoring normalcy in the valley which has erupted into violent protests after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani in an encounter with security forces on July 8. The meeting agreed that an effective border management system between Pakistan and Afghanistan should be introduced and enforced in the interest of both the countries to check cross-border movement of terrorists.

Speaking at the programme, attended by members of Pakistani and Kashmiri community, the ambassador of Pakistan Shahzad Ahmad said Pakistan has always supported the right of self-determination of Kashmiris and will continue to do so.
