Who is Tim Kaine? Virginia Senator is Hillary Clinton’s running mate
Hillary Clinton said Republicans have created a “Hillary standard” that has contributed to the negative impression many people have of her, giving her first joint interview with her newly announced running mate, Sen.

Trump leads Clinton 44% to 40% in a Morning Consult poll taken July 22-24, a turnaround from the prior week, when Clinton had a two-point lead.
Clinton also said that if elected she will be the sole president, despite being married to a former president.
But Kaine’s other assets apparently assuaged that trepidation, and he gave a triumphant, bilingual speech during his first public appearance with Clinton as her chosen No. 2 in Miami Saturday. A Clinton campaign aide said Kaine made clear “in the course of discussions” that he shares Clinton’s opposition to the TPP in its current form. CBS will have primetime coverage of the Democratic Convention starting at 9pm Monday through Thursday. The soon-to-be Democratic ticket went above and beyond on this week’s 60 Minutes; Clinton was aware that Kaine “plays a mean harmonica”, and it appears they actually put some thought into how they would answer obvious questions.
Clinton also she will not respond to the repeated name-calling from Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump or make a name for him, the way he calls her “Crooked Hillary”. “Conventional wisdom says presidential elections are all about base turnout”, he said in an email.
But party disunity is certain to also be a factor in Philadelphia, given Wasserman Schultz’s departure and the general unhappiness among many Sanders supporters, intensified by both the emails and by Clinton’s pick of Sen.
Sanders supporters are still in Philadelphia to support him. And Clinton discussed how there’s a new standard in Washington D.C., thanks to her.
“He brings labor, business and the Hispanic community to the table in a way that we haven’t seen before”, Floreen said, calling Perez, “one of the smartest people I’ve ever met”.
Hillary Clinton introduced running mate Tim Kaine as “a progressive who likes to get things done”, joining the Virginia senator in the crucial battleground state of Florida to help kick off next week’s Democratic National Convention.
In a statement Saturday, Murphy praised Clinton’s choice of Kaine.
His decision to oppose the agreement deals another blow to President Barack Obama’s hopes of winning approval of the deal from Congress this year.
Kaine said Virginia had worked to progressively return to the national stage in politics.
