Le’Veon Bell does not plan to miss games despite suspension

Although the vast majority of Steelers Nation has their minds made up regarding Le’Veon Bell’s future for the first 4 games of 2016, the All-Pro running back took to social media to remind fans of the appeal process.

“I’m gonna win the appeal…ppl have no idea what happened, but don’t worry…let em hate”, Bell wrote.

Officially, we don’t know much about Bell’s plight. The league reduced Le’Veon Bell’s original three-game suspension on appeal. This was not an official statement issued by Bell, whose agent, Adisa Bakari, has not responded to messages for comment.

But when the suspension is handed down, you can bet that Bell will appeal.

The Steelers do have backup RB DeAngelo Williams, who played the majority of their games a year ago due to Bell’s suspension and then his season-ending injury. Lately, Bell has been 0-for-2 in that area. The running back is on thin ice since he was suspended two games last season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Coincidentally, that arrest was recently expunged from his legal record after he completed his 15-month probation. The suspension stems from what Ian Rapoport described as “several” missed drug tests.

Some of the responses to that tweet indicate Bell’s loyal fans are dwindling.

Basically, players with no previous problems are free to smoke marijuana in season and in the off-season. However, a lot more information could come out, such as why he missed the tests.
