Will Amazon Prime Day Be Another Winner?
Amazon said some customers were reporting difficulty with checkout after making purchases in its highly publicized “Prime Day” shopping event. The company took to Twitter to get ahead of the issue, but it wasn’t enough to deter negative reactions on social media and in the press.

Amazon said it will have more than 100,000 deals as part of the Tuesday sales event – but only for customers in its $99-a-year membership program.
Prime Day shoppers have also ordered more than 22,000 TVs in the U.S.as of this afternoon. According to consumer website offers.com, prices on discounted offers must be lower than the lowest price since January 1. It is also offering a free 30-day trial on its two-day unlimited shipping service, and an extra month free for paying members. Just do not forget to cancel your subscription if you don’t want it after Prime Day so you don’t get billed.
Know what to buy and what not to buy. Some other big discounts were on large screen TVs and Amazon devices such as its Echo smart speaker, Kindle e-reader and Fire TV-streaming device.
In the 24 hours leading up to the event, there were almost 19,000 tweets about Prime Day, according to online media monitoring platform Visibrain. Eastern time, midnight Pacific.
“Last year the event, launched to celebrate Amazon’s 20th birthday, enticed 10.5m visitors on to its United Kingdom site alone”.
Research price histories. The website CamelCamelCamel.com offers price histories and price-drop notifications for Amazon products.
Amazon Prime Day has arrived – the sales holiday the internet lovingly dubbed past year as Amazon’s online garage sale, in reference to consumers’ disappointment with the deals’ quality. Indeed, in the days leading up to Tuesday’s sale, Amazon offered discounts on products ranging from protein powder to an HP Notebook.
