Trump will use speech to pledge law and order if elected

In a turn of phrase that drew attention, he said: “Our plan will put America First”.

“Americanism, not globalism, will be our credo”, he said.

Many pundits – majority Democrats and thus fans of Hillary-style hyper-controlling message management – admonished Trump for the Cruz debacle. Marco Rubio endorsed Trump before Cruz ever did, as Cruz during the primaries was much closer to Trump’s positions on issues like immigration than Rubio was.

‘I have a message for all of you: the crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon come to an end. “Beginning on January 20, 2017, safety will be restored”, Trump said.

“America is far less safe – and the world is far less stable – than when Obama made the decision to put Hillary Clinton in charge of America’s foreign policy”, he said. As former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, said to wild applause on the Quicken Loans stage after Cruz’s surreal act of political suicide, “So to paraphrase Ted Cruz, if you want to protect the Constitution this fall, there’s only one possible way and that’s to vote the Trump-Pence ticket”.

“This is the legacy of Hillary Clinton: death, destruction, terrorism and weakness”, he said.

He will say middle-income Americans and businesses will enjoy tax cuts and taxes will be simplified for everyone.

We also asked Cruz…by going back on his word to support the nominee, has he earned the name “Lyin’ Ted?”

Confidently addressing the finale of his party’s less-than-smooth national convention, the billionaire businessman declared the nation’s problems too staggering to be fixed within the confines of traditional politics.

Greta Van Susteren topped that on Fox News Channel by calling it, not the biggest night of his career or the speech of his life, but “the biggest night of his life”.

“Other than a small group of people who have suffered massive and embarrassing losses, the party is VERY united”. Opposition to allowing refugees rose to 71 percent among Republicans who Trump is seeking to unify with his convention speech.

His nominating event was consumed by a plagiarism charge, unusually harsh criticism of Clinton, and Texas Sen.

Other members of the Trump clan to give convention speeches were Mr. Trump’s current wife Melania, his sons Donald Jr. and Eric, and his youngest daughter, Tiffany, whose mother is Mr. Trump’s second wife, Marla Maples.

“I think that’s the focal point of the election”.

Meanwhile, Cruz on Thursday spoke to the Texas delegation, where he was repeatedly pressed and declined to endorse – or even commit to voting for – Trump. He was met with resounding boos on the floor of the convention; his wife Heidi had to be rushed from the room; according to reports, one Republican delegate physically accosted Cruz, and Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson refused to meet with Cruz.

And, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted told the Herald, the Republicans of Ohio will rally around Trump.

How successful his speech was is yet to be determind, but nearly from the start there were blatant signs of disunity in the party. But the people in Cleveland, the delegates, don’t care about the disagreement between John Kasich and Donald Trump. His remarks were a reminder of the sort of insults that many Republicans had hoped would disappear after a brutal primary season.

The address also stressed the campaign theme of “America First” – a slogan that has caused consternation among the American Jewish community over its echoes of Charles Lindbergh’s 1940 presidential campaign and America First Committee.

Some Republicans thought it was an unnecessary distraction at a time when the party should be focused on selling itself and its new leader. As he continues to live in the public eye, Donald Trump Jr.’s Instagram account shows he is a pretty cool guy who loves his family – aside from the fact that he is worth millions, of course. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Trump “is essentially telling Russians/other bad actors” that the United States “is not fully committed to supporting North Atlantic Treaty Organisation alliance”. As of yesterday morning however, police reported 23 protest-related arrests since Monday – well below what law enforcement officials had feared.
