The Democrats had been trying to avoid the divide that was apparent in Cleveland during the Republican National Convention last week. Calls for unity from Hillary Clinton’s camp are competing with cries of foul from backers of Bernie Sanders.

“Trump is a bully and a demagogue”, he said. One recent survey by Pew found that around 90 percent of voters who consistently supported Sanders throughout the primary favor Clinton over Trump in the general election.
That’s due in part to the release of hacked emails showing some DNC officials worked against the Bernie Sanders campaign during the primary.
“[Kansas Clinton delegates] are slightly outnumbered here”, said Versola.
Sanders told his delegates Monday that Wasserman Schultz’s departure would “open the doors of the party to people who want real change”.
“I don’t see how you run for president of the United States if you spend all your time trash-talking the United States, ” she told supporters.
Trump has repeatedly mocked Warren as “Pocahontas” – referring to a kerfuffle where she claimed Native American status during her time in academia. “Instead of dousing the embers, they’re throwing gasoline”.
The challenge for the party was made clear earlier in the evening when comedienne Sarah Silverman, a supporter of Bernie Sanders, sought to bring the Vermont senator’s supporters to Hillary Clinton’s side. Nancy Pelosi and Mike Honda.
Campaigning in North Carolina, Trump seemed to revel in the Democrats’ commotion, telling supporters that Clinton made a mistake by not choosing a more liberal running mate to appease Sanders’ base.
“Hillary Clinton has bad judgment”. The Democratic National Convention starts Monday in Philadelphia.
“If they think they can win without half the party, let them lose”, said Andrew Fader, 27, of NY, who was wearing a “Bernie” T-shirt on Sunday near the Liberty Bell. She knew everything that was going on. “That’s not what this country is built on”. “Jill, not Hill”, some chanted, while many others held up Sanders campaign signs with “Jill Stein” added on the bottom.
“I stand with my Democratic family in making sure we win this fall”, said Maine lawmaker Diane Russell, a Sanders supporter.
Philadelphia police called Sunday’s protests, peaceful, and said they were pleased with how things were going, so far. When Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) spoke about Black Lives Matter and his late father, some delegates chanted “No TPP” – a reference to the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a trade deal Sanders opposes. “WikiLeaks!” there were few signs of reconciliation.
Solomon, whose group communicates with 1,250 Sanders delegates, said supporters were weighing a number of floor protest actions this week. “If you betray the trust of your constituents, this is what happens when people get upset”.
Clinton is within just days of her long-held ambition to become the party’s official presidential nominee.
“We’re in a ballroom and I feel like I’m in a sauna”, he said. “But we just have to stop throwing tantrums”.
But new polls showed Mr Trump surging since his confirmation last week as the Republican presidential nominee, with a CNN poll putting him three points ahead of Clinton – a six-point post-convention bump. “What further experts are saying is that then, because they possessed those emails, that Russian state actors were feeding the email to hackers for the goal of helping Donald Trump”. “It’s so hard to get the message through to these young people”.
Pelosi had to raise her voice to try to be heard over the crowd.

MAN: We want to actually unite the party. “They said, ‘Debbie, you’re fired.’ How about that for disloyalty in terms of Hillary Clinton, in all fairness, because Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been so much for Hillary Clinton”.
