Labour supporters linked to abuse face losing leadership contest vote
An MP who quit Labour’s front bench during a revolt against Jeremy Corbyn has been reinstated after asking for her old job back.

LABOUR rebel Sarah Champion has “unresigned” and returned to Jeremy Corbyn’s team.
But the Rotherham MP has now returned to her post as a shadow home office minister, focusing on women, equality and domestic violence issues.
But Mr Corbyn has accepted her request to resume the role, and a spokesman for the Labour leader opened the door for others who resigned to follow suit.
A Labour spokesman said: “There’s always work to be done”.
The Labour leader is favourite to win re-election during the contest this summer and leads his rival Owen Smith by more than 20 points according to the polls.
At the time Ms Champion said Mr Corbyn’s “position is no longer tenable if we’re to be effective”.
He recognised condemnation of such “appalling behaviour” from Mr Corbyn and Mr Smith, among others, but added such comments are “meaningless unless they are backed up by action”.
The survey, carried out between 21-25 July, found that 60 per cent of councillors are backing Mr Smith, with 28 per cent likely to vote for Mr Corbyn.
“Put plainly, there is simply too much of it taking place and it needs to stop”.
Ms Champion’s office confirmed she had retaken her position.
Champion initially quit as part of the wave of mass resignations from Corbyn’s frontbench last month.
The peer criticised Mr Corbyn for claiming credit for Government U-turns on tax credits, trade union reforms and housing without acknowledging colleagues.
When asked which candidate gave Labour the best chance of winning their constituency at the next general election, 64.6% said Mr Smith, with only 23.4% naming the present leader.
Jeremy has made it clear on a number of occasions he wants to reach out to the Parliamentary Labour Party.

And just over half of councillors surveyed told Anglia Ruskin that they believe the majority of their local registered supporters will back Corbyn.
