Tigers SS Jose Iglesias OK with role in dugout scrap
Right-hander Bud Norris, who won 15 games for the Orioles’ division-winning club in 2014 but struggled throughout this season, officially was released.

“I think it shows that they care”, Ausmus said.
To say Detroit Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias has no regrets regarding his heated dugout exchange with catcher James McCann on Friday would be an understatement. Then the All-Star shortstop threw his glove.
The Tigers lost Friday’s game to the Red Sox, 7-2, which led to tension bubbling over between Iglesias and McCann, and a hard shove on Iglesias’ part . The two have been separated by third baseman Nick Castellanos and second baseman Ian Kinsler, however centerfielder Anthony Gose obtained in the act shortly thereafter, saying some robust phrases to Iglesias.
Asked if he thought he and McCann were okay going forward, Iglesias said: “I mean, I don’t care”.
“It’s fine”, he said.
Iglesias was asked whether he and McCann are on good terms now that the incident is in the past. “It’s no doubt about it. You know, I just try to come here and do my job”.
Ausmus said he doesn’t think there’s any correlation to the players being frustrated over the way the season has played out. McCann had gestured toward the field just before the altercation, so it’s possible he was displeased with Iglesias’s – who is known as an excellent defensive shortstop – effort. But Iglesias’ comment didn’t give it the closure we’re sure his teammates and manager Brad Ausmus were looking for.
“Maybe he subscribes to the theory that there’s no bad press”, the second-year manager said. Iglesias moved to his left but was unable to make a play on the ball.
“To me, it looked like he started to go for it as if he was going to dive and didn’t think he could get there with the dive”, Ausmus said.

“I do not inform anyone the best way to play your place”, Iglesias stated. “I just go out there and do my best”.
