VIEWER GUIDE: Clinton asking voters for fresh look in Philly
She’s only due to gavel the convention in and out.

In one leaked email, a DNC official wondered whether Sanders’ religious beliefs could be used against him, questioning whether the candidate may be an atheist.
Hours before the start of the four-day gathering to nominate Ms Clinton for the White House, outgoing Democratic national committee head Debbie Wasserman Schultz struggled to be heard above boos as she spoke to the Democratic delegation from her home state, Florida.
Trump has repeatedly referred to Clinton as “Crooked Hillary”.
Clinton herself is more popular than Trump with women, Hispanics, African-Americans and immigrants, which gives her some assurance that she can carry these voters without any particular help from her running mate, her advisers say. “The contrast between Donald Trump’s convention where he “alone can fix it” versus Hillary Clinton’s convention is that we are stronger together”, the official said.
The Kaines visited their church a day after Kaine made his campaign debut with Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. Kaine and Pence are both solid debaters, but Kaine is more natural as an attack dog, a quality Clinton prizes. On the other hand, Clinton felt as though she had to flip against the Trans-Pacific Partnership – a strong deal that would cement US influence in the Pacific Rim. Democrats said they wanted to convey a message of optimism and improving the lives of all Americans.
On the heels of a tumultuous Republican convention, Hillary Clinton arrives in Philadelphia eager to show off a forward-looking Democratic Party united behind her steady leadership.
Clinton and her campaign have grappled with a number of controversies, including her use of a private email server at the State Department as well as her handling of an attack on a USA consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
And, as Clinton smiled broadly at her choice for vice president, Kaine greeted the largely Hispanic audience in Spanish.
Clinton also said GOP speakers painted a negative picture of the country “that I did not recognize”. “There’s not going to be many more chances like this”.
The resignation broke as thousands of delegates, including 1,900 who backed Sanders, are converging on Philadelphia and on Saturday won concessions to change the way delegates are awarded in future presidential campaigns.
On the whole, however, Texas Democrats are not expecting anything like what happened in Cleveland, where Republican National Convention events showed disunity over the party’s presidential nominee, Donald Trump.
Clinton, too, has confronted her share of challenges in rallying the Democratic base.
That won’t be so reassuring for supporters of Sanders, however.
“In our humble opinion, Texas Democrats believe that both Julián and Joaquin Castro have what it takes to pick up the reins and move the party forward”, Hinojosa said in a statement.
After winning several key concessions, Sanders finally offered Clinton his formal backing last month. Trump himself has spoken favorably about Putin as someone he could negotiate with.
Clinton’s campaign manager, Robby Mook, tried to shift blame for the email hack away from DNC officials and onto “Russian state actors” who, he said, may have breached DNC computers “for the goal of helping Donald Trump”, the Republican presidential nominee. He stressed, however, the importance of Clinton continuing to embrace a progressive vision during the general election.
“There will be some people talking about things that neither she nor they (her family) have really discussed in a big public way before”, said Joel Benenson, her chief strategist. “And if you step away from them, they would be deflating the support and enthusiasm that folks worked so hard to create”.
In some ways, Clinton’s speech will serve as a sequel to her 2008 “glass ceiling” speech, when she conceded the Democratic nomination to Barack Obama at the end of the presidential primaries. Elizabeth Warren for her running mate instead of Virginia Sen.
And Clinton heads into Philadelphia with a political partner.

In a way, Clinton may have to follow her husband’s blueprint in how to combat a string of bad headlines – from the Federal Bureau of Investigation director’s harsh condemnation of her use of a personal email server to the better-than-expected reception of Donald Trump’s lengthy RNC acceptance to speech, and most recently the leak of thousands of internal DNC correspondence, which has resurrected divisions between her supporters and backers of her chief primary rival, Sen.
