On convention’s eve, Democrats bedeviled anew by email
Tim Kaine, on Saturday as a can-do progressive committed to social justice and equality – “everything Donald Trump and Mike Pence are not” – at a boisterous rally in advance of next week’s Democratic National Convention. While she has often avoided overt politics during her almost eight years in the White House, her frustration with Trump’s rise was evident.

Some voters at Friday’s rally said this week’s Republican National Convention inspired them to attend Clinton’s rally in Tampa.
Clinton and Kaine met that evening at her Washington home for 90 minutes, and she invited Kaine and his wife, Virginia Education Secretary Anne Holton, to her home in Chappaqua two days later. She will have to counter the stream of attacks that Trump and his surrogates threw her way at last week’s GOP convention, and at the same time, make a fresh appeal to the large swath of the Democratic base that rejected her during the primaries and independent voters yet to pick a side.
Norman Solomon, a delegate who supports Bernie Sanders, says there is talk among Sanders’ delegates of walking out during Kaine’s acceptance speech or turning their backs as a show of protest.
“Voters will see very much a connection from life lessons she learned growing up in the family she did and what has really rooted her in what have become the causes of her life”, said Benenson. The Florida events come ahead of the Democratic National Convention, which kicks off Monday in Philadelphia.
Sanders told his delegates Monday that Wasserman Schultz’s departure would “open the doors of the party to people who want real change”.
And, as Clinton smiled broadly at her choice for vice president, Kaine greeted the largely Hispanic audience in Spanish.
Will they kiss and make up?
“She grew up as an ordinary kid in the suburbs of Chicago who went to public school”, said Melanne Verveer, the former first lady’s chief of staff, who remains a close confidante. Trump also cut into Clinton’s edge on managing foreign policy (50% said they trusted her more, down from 57% pre-convention).
In recent weeks, Clinton has begun to acknowledge that she has a problem. The emotional impact of learning about her mother’s mistreatment as an orphan was formative. Another 20% think they need more information.
“When I see this, you know, ‘Crooked Hillary, ‘ or I see the, ‘Lock her up, ‘ it’s just ridiculous”.
“They would have made the ideal team”, said Mount, 56, treasurer for the Florida Democratic Party.
“A compromise of this nature is something we take very seriously, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation will continue to investigate and hold accountable those who pose a threat in cyberspace”, it said. These include suburban college- and non-college-educated women.
They are also focused on younger voters, who may associate the Clintons with 1990s-era controversies. When they arrived in Newport, they waited in their auto in a beachfront parking lot – Podesta was wearing a suit and didn’t want to draw suspicion.
Hillary Clinton supporters wait in anticipation to hear Clinton speak at Florida International University on Saturday, July 23.
Kaine is viewed skeptically by some liberals in the Democratic Party, who dislike his support of free trade and Wall Street.
The Clinton campaign says Russian Federation favours Trump’s views, especially on North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
Clinton’s “stronger together” message will remain the overarching theme of the four-day convention.
“Many people are uncomfortable with this whole FBI thing”, Schreiner said, referring to the bureau’s investigation into Clinton’s email practices. Her short list included Massachusetts Sen.
In addition to the videos, there will be musical performances and entertainment aimed at creating a celebratory mood and drawing more eyeballs.

The convention is among the campaign’s last chances to recast the personal narrative about Clinton, especially with her favorability ratings dipping further after the Federal Bureau of Investigation director’s criticism of her use of a private email server as secretary of State.
