“It’s a insane sport”, Vegas said. “You’ve just got to keep your head down and play hard”. “I don’t know, ball was not going in the hole”. I had a chance with a couple holes to go, so that’s all you can ask for.

Vegas floundered on the weekend at last week’s Barracuda Championship after shooting a second-round 60, but he moved up 14 spots during the final round in Ontario, Canada after shooting an 8-under 64 to finish at 12 under. I had a long talk with my golf teachers about what was missing, what was the missing component of the formula to win, ” Vegas said. (69), Tom Byrum (71) and Joe Durant (72) were tied for second.

Dustin Johnson eagled the par-5 16th but couldn’t duplicate the feat on the 18th.

Rahm is making his fourth start since turning pro after the U.S. Open. Snedeker shot 71 to tie for fifth at 10 under. He birdied the 16th and closed with two pars.

Snedeker will now play in the final group of the tournament with local amateur du Toit, while Johnson will be teeing it up with compatriot Steve Wheatcroft.

Johnson drained a birdie putt on the 18th hole to salvage his day somewhat, finishing 1-under 71 on the day.

Du Toit didn’t break the winless streak of Canadians at their national championship, but a top 10 in his first time playing a PGA Tour event and doing so in his home country is still a great week. According to Ray, Doug Sanders (1956) was the last amateur to come out on top at the RBC Canadian Open, and Pat Fletcher (1954) was the last Canadian to do so.
