Silent protesters for Bernie Sanders
He said that they started a revolution to transform America.

White House hopeful Bernie Sanders on Tuesday told a driven and lively Democratic convention that his rival Hillary Clinton must become the next USA president.
Some Sanders supporters appeared willing to set aside their qualms about Clinton, largely out of a desire to see Trump defeated in the election.
Netherton said she couldn’t support Clinton even if Sanders asked her. “Thank you all, very much”, Sanders said.
Delegates booing the name of the nominee.
While Sanders gave his full support to Clinton, there were some delegates at the convention who remained unsupportive. DNC officials also scoff at Sanders and his supporters and, in one instance, even question his commitment to his religion. Starting with Monday’s opening prayer, they intermittently chanted “Bernie”, despite pleas from speakers to stop.
A few dissidents, taking a page from the GOP convention playbook, even chanted “Lock her up”, referring to Clinton.
But leaked emails showing that some Democratic National Committee members favored Clinton over Sanders upended the scripted proceedings, seemingly confirming the idea that Sanders had been on the outside looking in the whole time. “That’s what the corporate media wants”. “Not voting for Hillary is a sure win for Donald Trump”. Leaked e-mails had linked her to efforts to favor Clinton over Sanders during the primaries.
He continued to cover his own campaign platform and drew connections between his and Hillary Clinton’s, saying she would be the most qualified candidate to continue his vision.
The DNC on Monday issued a “deep and honest apology” to Sanders, his supporters and the party for the “inexcusable remarks” made over email. But when Sanders said Clinton “must become” president, the crowd burst into sustained applause. The turning point arguably came when comedian and Sanders supporter Sarah Silverman brought the house down with the line that the Bernie or Bust movement was “being ridiculous”.
WikiLeaks at the weekend released almost 20,000 emails from between January 2015 and May 2016, gleaned by hackers who apparently raided the accounts of seven DNC leaders.
Their frustration was on display a day after Democratic party chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced she would step down at the end of the convention. “Hillary Clinton understands that if a person works 40 hours a week, they deserve to make a living wage”.
And Sanders’ supporters inside and outside the arena will have to decide whether to come into the fold for Clinton or continue agitating. “No surprise there”, he said. “It’s hard to feel they have our best interests in mind”, she said. “I think we’re going to get a lot of (Sanders) supporters”. The first lady did for Hillary Clinton what Bill Clinton did for President Barack Obama at the 2012 convention, making the case for her candidacy in ways Clinton has not been able to make for herself. Tim Kaine as her running mate, a so-called “safe” choice. Rather than repeat all the labels Democrats will, with good reason, hurl at Donald Trump this week – bigot, demagogue, threat to the Republic – she simply insisted that Americans should demand better.
“If you don’t believe this election is important, if you think you can sit it out, take a moment to think about the Supreme Court justices that Donald Trump would nominate and what that would mean to civil liberties, equal rights and the future of our country”, he said. “We are all in this together and we will all have a voice in the Clinton administration”. They carried signs reading, “Never Hillary”, “Just Go to Jail Hillary” and “You Lost Me at Hillary”.
It wasn’t an especially well-crafted or delivered speech, but I suppose it got the job done as a hand-off to Hillary.
However, Sanders implied that Trump wants people to be paid less, but Trump has said the opposite.
Sanders won the states of Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, and New Hampshire in the run-up to the convention, and almost won Iowa – all states that could be closely contested by Trump in the general election.
A democratic socialist, Sanders ran an unexpectedly tough race against former Secretary of State Clinton, galvanizing young and liberal voters with his calls to rein in Wall Street and eradicate income inequality. Nine percent said they’ll vote for Trump and 6% said they’ll vote for another candidate or don’t know.

“In the end they’re going to vote for her”, said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute.
