Alabama just defunded Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood Florida Clinics say they are allowed to perform abortions up to 13.6 weeks, a period that’s considered within the first trimester of pregnancy.

The move makes Alabama the third state to strip funding from Planned Parenthood in the wake of undercover videos that allegedly show doctors from the organization discussing the selling of fetal tissue.

The Alabama Medicaid Agency will terminate its contract with Planned Parenthood with a 15-day notice. In releasing the information, AHCA said it had ordered the clinics to cease performing second-trimester abortions without licenses and said it might take additional actions, including administrative sanctions.

While Roberts seemed to agree with Finney’s claim that defunding the abortion giant would be bad for the liberal agenda, he continued to argue that Democrat defenders of Planned Parenthood should at least view the videos so they know what they’re defending.

Since the videos surfaced last month, abortion opponents at the state and federal levels have renewed calls to strip tax funding of Planned Parenthood, which operates three clinics in Ohio offering abortions and other health-care services.

The same Planned Parenthood branch also recently identified Colorado State University as among one of the procurement companies that uses human organs from abortions for their research.

“And one or two of them contract with Planned Parenthood to do some of the clinical work that public health departments do”.

“If we alter our process and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, then we can make it part of the budget, that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this”. “This, as defined by rules, is still the first trimester”.

“Mister Speaker, I stand here profoundly disappointed that the House will leave town today without taking a vote on my legislation to defund Planned Parenthood“, she said.

At the urging of state political leaders, Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson said Wednesday that she will launch a criminal investigation of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Houston.

Staci Fox, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Southeast, said Bentley’s announcement will deprive thousands of low-income ad uninsured men and women of needed services.

The latest video released by the activist group also includes graphic footage of workers examining aborted fetuses and came a day after a Republican-backed effort to defund the nonprofit fell seven votes short in the Senate.
