Wisconsin DNC Delegates Offer Mixed Take On Impact Of Email Leak

President Barack Obama said he called Wasserman Schultz Sunday to say he was “grateful” for her years of service.

The leak doesn’t help Clinton’s struggle with perceptions of untrustworthiness, either, stemming in large part from her use of a private email server as secretary of state. “Anything that distracts from that message at the Democratic National Convention or across the country is a mistake, so I think (Wasserman Schultz) did the right thing”.

Boos filled the room as Wasserman Schultz lectured the crowd: “Alright everybody, now settle down”.

And he revived the insult he once used for Jeb Bush to poke fun at Hillary Clinton.

Sanders delegates are also fuming over the pick Sen.

The DNC voted to select Congresswoman Marcia Fudge to oversee the convention proceedings instead. Later, Bernie Sanders spoke to a raucous crowd of delegates supporting his candidacy which reacted with boos when he urged them to support Clinton’s election this fall. In those emails, she discussed Bernie Sanders’ Jewish faith and the possibility that he might be an atheist.

As the temperature soared to 100 degrees Sunday in Philly, hundreds of Bernie Sanders supporters marched.

Here’s what Sanders tells ABC’s “This Week”: “I’m not shocked, but I am disappointed”.

“I’ll leave it to the DNC campaign to explain that”, spokeswoman Karen Finney told Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures. “It was an absolute mistake and they should not have done that and it was wrong and I think she’s decided that she needs to step down”. Wasserman Schultz signaled her intent to resign amid the stir over the weekend caused by leaks from the DNC’s email server.

Clinton’s campaign is distancing itself for the DNC and Wasserman Schultz. It was there Wasserman Schultz earned her reputation as a workhorse and outspoken liberal willing to spar with Republicans on television.

The scandal is an unwanted distraction as the Democratic Party tries to paint itself as paint itself as unified at the four-day convention.

Still, Sanders and others feel that the DNC chair should remain neutral during a nominating process.

Earlier, Barney Frank, co-chair of the rules committee at the convention, said it was never expected that Wasserman Schultz would preside over convention proceedings this week. She did not appear at the convention podium and later watched the proceedings from a private suite.

Last week, the Republican Party strove to find and project unity, despite the continuing reluctance of some states and former presidential candidates to fall in line behind Donald Trump.
