Star Wars Rogue One Likely Won’t Have Franchise’s Iconic Opening Crawl

A year ago in Anaheim Star Wars Celebration revealed the second teaser trailer for Episode VII: The Force Awakens. The Death Star pack will include two new heroes, as usual, with Bossk coming on the villains side, and Chewbacca on the heroes side. While the new maps weren’t detailed yet, we do know that the action will take place both inside and outside the Death Star.
The “Rogue One” panel at this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration kicked off with the opening crawl of “A New Hope”, followed by the “Rogue One” logo. The title of the DLC is Rogue One: Scarif. There are already examples of Star Wars canon not having an opening crawl, like The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels animated series. The Death Star is of huge importance to the Star Wars story and is obviously the focus of this upcoming DLC. Scarif is the tropical planet that is one of the main locations in the Rogue One movie.
Bioware released a five-year celebration trailer for The Old Republic, as well as a tease of the expansion Knights of the Eternal Throne, which arrives this fall.
Rogue One is scheduled for release on December 16, and has an unbelievable cast, including Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Forest Whittaker, Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna, Jiang Wen, and Donnie Yen.

DICE and EA didn’t give out an official release date for the expansion pack, but they simply stated that they are targeting a release date during the holiday season.
