Pogba agent ‘doesn’t give a damn’ about record fee

Speaking to SportWitness, the Manchester United legend conveyed his reluctance to see the club spend a reported £86m on former youth player Paul Pogba.

They had already wrapped up deals for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly and the Portuguese boss had spoken about completing the signing of his “fourth target” in the coming days.

However, the final stumbling block that the two club’s must surmount is how the fee due to Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is to be paid.

“We established the profile of four players to improve the squad, to give us more options, especially adapted to my way of thinking about football”.

Or perhaps it’s because with a mooted transfer fee above STG90 million ($A160 million), he’ll have plenty of money to play with to replace Pogba, should he leave for Manchester or elsewhere.

France worldwide Pogba departed Old Trafford to join Juve on a free transfer in 2012 and has since developed into one the world’s best players during his time in Turin, winning four straight Serie A titles with the club.

Dimitri Payet is not sure whether Paul Pogba is worth £85million, but believes whoever buys the midfielder will be getting an exceptional player. “I just don’t think he is a player worth 100 million pound-plus right now”.

The deal between United and Juventus is thought to have been accelerated by the Italian champions’ pursuit of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain. “Everybody speaks about one, but it wouldn’t be a surprise for me if it is not him [Pogba] and it is another one because we went for profile”.

However, Scholes is of the opinion that Pogba is hugely overpriced.
