A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Wyoming County.

A strong thunderstorm was expected to impact Cumberland County until 2 p.m., moving east at 25 miles per hour.
A thunderstorm watch means “conditions are favorable” for such severe weather, the service said. The storm could damage roofs, siding and trees, and cloud to ground lightning. Gusty winds reaching speeds up to 70 miles per hour are possible throughout the storm, as are periods of heavy rainfall and even isolated large hail.
The NWS also issued a flash flood warning effective until 10:15 p.m.
It’s ridiculously hot and oppressively humid outside. Temperatures are in the 90s with heat indexes – or the temperature it feels outside – over 100 degrees in some places.
The warning is in effect until 9:30 a.m. Areas mentioned in the warning include Arcade, Warsaw, and Letchworth State Park.

All of central Pennsylvania is included in the watch, the NWS said.
