The father of the Palestinian toddler who was killed last week by Israeli settlers in the West Bank succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
The Israeli 26-year-old civilian suffered minor wounds and was taken to hospital after being stabbed along a main highway near Jerusalem, police spokeswoman Luba Samri said. His body was transferred to Nablus hospital to undergo an autopsy before his burial. Neither Ettinger, nor Slonim are thought to be directly connected to Duma arson attack.

But Israeli observers say it remains to be seen whether the steps portend a real shift away from what Israeli President Reuven Rivlin conceded after the Duma attack is a “lax” attitude by the authorities towards Jewish terrorism. They are suspected of extremist activities, but the authorities have not indicated whether or not they were to blame for the death of the infant.
