The Offaly man shot a sensational four under par final round of 66, an 8ft birdie on the last wrapping up a two stroke win on 11 under, with Bubba Watson back on nine under.

Lowry methodically strolled down the 72nd fairway, after hitting one of the best shots of his career through the trees to within 10 feet of the pin.
It’s only his second victory as a pro overall and comes just five days before the final Major championship of the year, the US PGA.
The day though belonged to Lowry who admitted: “It was great to get the job done because I have been doubting myself a bit this season”.

“A whole new world has opened up to Shane, I’m so happy for him”, said McGinley, who pointed out that the Fed Ex Cup and Ryder Cup were now on Lowry’s horizon. “I am certainly ready to be in that position and hopefully we can do so”.
