“No really pebble he shuffles under, we will typically track him down”, Shaw instructed correspondents. There is nothing that he can do to stop us from bringing him to justice.

He was found sitting in a detached garage and appeared to be “just hanging out”, police said. More than 7 dozen police were on scene at one point after the shooting.

Louisiana State Police Cannon’s arrest ends a statewide manhunt. Please keep this officer’s family in your prayers tonight as well as our law enforcement. “Our hearts are saddened”, said Mayor Ollie Tyler.

Officer LaValley had been with the police department since February 2011.

Shaw said LaValley came to his office while working at the television station and said he’d applied for a job but had not been hired. Shaw described Lavalley as “one of our top young people” and a hero who will never be forgotten. “I would suggest that he turn himself in immediately”.

Darren Williams was at LaValley’s memorial service Thursday night.

Visitation will follow until 9:00 p.m.
