Heckled offstage, Wasserman Schultz now seeks re-election
By comparison, the $3 million Wasserman Schultz raised between January and June 30 came mostly from political committees and larger donors. Mrs. Obama’s address all but wiped away earlier tumult in the convention hall that had exposed lingering tensions between Clinton and Sanders supporters.

Even then, the protesters continued chanting.
Sanders urgently tried to dissuade his supporters from disrupting the event, sending emails and text messages to supporters asking them not to protest. “Go back to Play-Doh”.
On Thursday, as he spoke to accept his party’s nomination, Trump became the first political candidate to purchase a “promoted trend” on Twitter. Among other things, Wasserman Schultz emailed NBC personality Chuck Todd, saying in the subject line, “Chuck, this must stop”. “Trump is a bully and a demagogue”.
“They’re not real Democrats”, state Sen.
Party leaders have no business picking favorites in primaries.
Clinton is promising a stark contrast to last week’s Republican gathering, an often chaotic affair that featured a heavy dose of pessimism about the economy and national security.
“I am proud to be part of Bernie’s movement”, Silverman said as the crowd roared.
Emails were apparently leaked from seven DNC officials’ accounts, though CNN was not able to independently verify their authenticity. “I look forward to campaigning with Debbie in Florida and helping her in her re-election bid-because as President, I will need fighters like Debbie in Congress who are ready on day one to get to work for the American people”, Clinton’s statement read.
Clinton campaign officials blamed the hack, which is now being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, on Russian military intelligence agencies.
The same can not be said of his approach to Wasserman Schultz, whom he’s criticized for scheduling primary debates on Saturday nights and temporarily cutting his access to a DNC voter database.
While the government and Federal Bureau of Investigation haven’t officially pointed the finger at Russia, US officials briefed on the probe say the evidence so far points to groups known for conducting cyberintrusions for Moscow. “I think we’re at a level of risk (with Trump) that we’ve never seen in our lifetimes”. Several cybersecurity firms have verified Crowdstrike’s findings that the perpetrators of the DNC attack were the two known Russian groups, and there is no evidence independent hackers could be separately responsible for the leaks. “Maybe that’ll inspire people to take the fundraising shackles off themselves”.
Regardless of the origins of the hack, it was Wasserman Schultz who bore the brunt of the political fallout. Not long later, he announced he was leaving the Senate.
Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said Monday Wasserman Schultz still meant to gavel the convention into order Monday afternoon, but she told the South Florida Sun Sentinel that she was passing along those duties as well to Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the secretary of the DNC.

To his credit, Sanders has taken the high road since the disclosures. But it did little to temper their ongoing concerns about the woman at the top of the Democratic ticket. While noting that the emails confirm what he’s said all along – that the DNC wanted Clinton atop the ticket – he has kept his focus on defeating Trump in November.
