Civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis of Georgia wants us to vote like we’ve never voted before for Hillary Clinton.
Clinton is expected to be nominated during a roll call vote among the delegates, led by Mikulski and Lewis.
More than 1,800 delegates are pledged to Sanders, and he told them Monday night, “I look forward to your votes during the roll call”. Amaru, an adjunct professor and public policy consultant, won a campaign contest to nominate Clinton. In the final speech the official convention opening Monday night Sanders urged his very vocal, very unhappy supporters who were still calling for a “political revolution” to get behind Clinton to defeat GOP nominee Donald Trump in November.
Reports surfaced earlier Tuesday that negotiations were underway to have Sanders nominate his former primary rival for president in an effort to signal party unity.
The two campaigns are discussing having Sanders’s home-state delegation from Vermont move to make her nomination unanimous by acclimation after votes have been recorded from all of the other states. “We hope it works out”.
The Sanders and Clinton camps are in talks about the nomination, CNN reports, so details could still change.
Clinton will be the first woman presidential nominee of a major party in the country.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Hillary Clinton has had her name placed in nomination for president.
Mikulski was the first Democratic woman to be elected to the Senate in her own right.

“Tonight n this night we shatter that glass ceiling again”, he added, nodding to a popular phrase oft-used by Clinton.
