Demonstrators said they weren’t swayed by Sanders’ speech at the convention Monday night, in which he said: “Based on her ideas and her leadership, Hillary Clinton must become the next president of the United States”.

Trump has made his opposition to trade agreements the centerpiece of his economic argument. He said Trump would support allowing states to lower the US minimum wage, now $7.25 per hour, while also backing tax breaks for the rich.
Clinton will be proclaimed the party’s nominee after a state-by-state roll call vote beginning at around 6:00 pm (2200 GMT) at the Democratic National Convention, making the former first lady and secretary of state the first female presidential candidate of a major U.S. party.
“In this election, I’m with her”, Obama said.
The roll call put behind them, the Clinton camp will look to former President Bill Clinton, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and a host of other speakers to energize the crowd and begin to forge a bond strong enough to unite the party.
Norman Solomon, co-founder of the Bernie Delegates Network, told reporters that he had found a VP candidate who would run against Kaine, but would not reveal the candidate’s name because the Democratic Party hid the filing paperwork from them. Sanders delegates in California booed down speakers, including Clinton supporter Rep. Xavier Becerra.
He is criticizing rival Hillary Clinton and the Democrats gathered in Philadelphia at their national convention for failing to mention Islamic State militants during their convention’s first day. It took several minutes for Hillary Clinton supporters to calm things down.
Many Sanders delegates acknowledged off the floor that they would likely end up voting for Clinton because they REALLY don’t like Donald Trump.
He made the remarks in a breakfast meeting of Wisconsin and other delegates to the Democratic National Convention.
But the crowd’s hostility to Clinton seemed to wane during the night.
Julianne Moore, Bryan Cranston, Kerry Washington, Mark Ruffalo, Neil Patrick Harris, Lena Dunham, Shonda Rhimes, and Macklemore are among the 100-plus celebrities who are joining a campaign to urge Americans to deny Donald Trump the presidency.
Lytle later released a statement saying that in a moment of “passion”, he expresed thoughts that didn’t reflect his intention of “promoting productive dialogue”.
The campaign is part of MoveOn.org Political Action’s #UnitedAgainstHate campaign. “It’s OK”, he said of Sanders supporters as he toured the convention arena Tuesday. But he said Sanders delegates from OH weren’t behind the effort. That said, he generally caucuses with Senate Democrats.
The party is reeling from leaked Democratic National Committee emails which show nominally neutral party staff trying to undermine Sanders’ campaign and questioning his Jewish faith. At crucial points at their conventions – the GOP in Cleveland last week and the Dems in Philly this week – Sanders and Cruz chose demonstrably divergent paths, leaving us to mull which was more honorable. But Clinton herself will be watching the festivities?- including a speech by former President Bill Clinton -? from her home in NY.
Sanders emailed supporters Monday, asking them not to be disruptive, to be respectful in the arena, but clearly some were unswayed.
Democrats certainly have a problem with email, don’t they? Comedian Sarah Silverman, a Sanders supporter, said she would support Clinton “with gusto” and sternly added, “To the “Bernie or Bust” people, you’re being ridiculous”.
“We need you to vote blue no matter who”, she said, her voice drowned by the opposition.
Tim Kaine says Donald Trump’s got him all wrong.

“As a father of a daughter and a grandfather of a granddaughter, knowing that my daughter and my granddaughter will grow up in a country where that barrier has been broken is something that’s not just history for our nation but it’s personal”, Kildee said.
