After VP Selection, Kaine Endorses Repeal of Hyde Amendment on Abortion
Hillary Clinton and running mate Tim Kaine are closely aligned on many issues, but Kaine’s cautious, left-leaning political profile in a closely contested state is blurred by his ties to energy industry interests and his personal qualms over abortion.

In the course of his three-year pontificate, the Pope has driven home a pro-life message in address after address, calling abortion a “scourge” on society and insisting that “a just society recognizes the primacy of the right to life from conception to natural death”.
Rhode Island’s Roman Catholic bishop says many of Virginia Sen.
He and his wife attend St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Richmond, Va., which has a predominantly African-American congregation.
As Governor of Virginia, he often spoke of adoption as the best solution to unwanted pregnancy, and approved the sale of “Choose Life” license plates, whose proceeds help fund pro-life clinics. Kaine has a pro-abortion record and the potential Clinton running mate is not following anyone.
That wasn’t the first time Kaine has attempted to moderate his pro-abortion viewpoint.
Despite his lip service to being “personally opposed” to abortion, Kaine has faithfully toed the party line, consistently voting in favor of abortion rights on the Senate floor, a record that has won him a 100% approval rating from Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider. Recently, Kaine has voiced support for the Supreme Court’s striking down of Texas laws that would have required abortion clinics to meet the standards of surgical centers, among other standards.
“We continue to maintain an open communication with public officials who make on-going decisions impacting critical, moral and social issues”. The clarification of church teaching is meant to guide Catholic leaders as they share “The Joy of Love” with parishioners. It is also reported that he publicly supports “freedom of choice” for abortion, same-sex marriage, gay adoptions, and the ordination of women as priests. All of these positions are clearly contrary to well-established Catholic teachings; all of them have been opposed by Pope Francis as well.

“I have a traditional Catholic personal position, but I am very strongly supportive that women should make these decisions and government shouldn’t intrude”, Kaine said. As LifeNews previously reported, Kaine said he is a “strong supporter of Roe v. Wade” despite supposedly being a “traditional Catholic”.
