Clinton’s running-mate greets crowd in Spanish, lashes out at Trump

A trove of embarrassing leaked emails some said reveal an anti-Sanders bias at the supposedly neutral Democratic National Committee has ripped open some barely-heeled primary wound. “When we’re together, we’re stronger”, Kaine said making a strong pitch for Clinton.

The discussions between the two camps prompted Sanders to send emails and text messages to supporters asking them not to protest. And he, too, celebrated the ouster of Wasserman Schultz after the email hack.

DNC Vice Chair Donna Brazile, a veteran Democratic strategist who will lead the party on an interim basis after the convention, warned more leaked emails, and more apologies, could be coming. The Florida congresswoman was greeted with boos Monday morning by delegates who would certainly have repeated the spectacle.

The former first lady tapped Kaine, 58, late Friday in what was widely seen as a safe but wise choice: the popular Spanish-speaking senator from the swing state of Virginia is a political veteran and foreign policy hand who ticks a lot of boxes.

Still in question is what role Wasserman Schultz might play during this week’s Democratic convention.

“We need candidates in our party and have candidates in our party who actually reach out to the Hispanic community rather than marginalize it”, Clardy said. Elizabeth Warren, a favorite of liberals and one of the party’s toughest critics of Republican Donald Trump. “Do you want to walk out divided and to give Trump the ability to say we had an undemocratic election?”

A cybersecurity firm they employed found traces of at least two sophisticated hacking groups on their network – both of which have ties to the Russian government. Bill and Hillary Clinton are directly responsible for setting up Third Way as a think tank and advisor to the DNC.

Obama will speak on Wednesday night.

Sanders was taking the stage later in the night.

Republicans relished Democrats’ pre-convention tumult, just days after they bumped and bumbled through their convention, unsuccessfully trying to paper over their own division. Bernie Sanders were disappointed that Clinton, the former Secretary of State, didn’t choose someone from the progressive wing of the party such as Massachusetts Sen. But others were falling in line behind Clinton.

The DNC will be an extended explanation of why Hillary Clinton, like her major-party counterpart Donald Trump, is unacceptable not simply to libertarians but to that plurality of Americans who define themselves as independent, centrist, moderate, or anything other than a dyed-in-the-wool partisan.

Trump made clear his authoritarianism in his acceptance speech in Cleveland, declaring he will be “our voice” and that he will singlehandedly renegotiate trade treaties and defense pacts and make America smell great again through endless “winning”.

“I stand here today as proof you can live a normal and empowered life with mental illness”, she said, before breaking into a performance of her song “Confident”.

Kaine criticized Trump’s recent suggestion he might not honor USA security commitments to North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in Europe, and the real estate mogul’s history of casino bankruptcies and founding the failed Trump University.

Hillary hasn’t gotten much credit for being bolder than past Democrats on gun reform during this election, but her willingness to take on the NRA and campaign with the Mothers of the Movement is a big deal. She will formally accept the nomination on Thursday.

In some ways, Clinton’s speech will serve as a sequel to her 2008 “glass ceiling” speech, when she conceded the Democratic nomination to Barack Obama at the end of the presidential primaries.
