The restless crowd chanted for Bernie throughout, making an erratic Franken pleadingly try to change the chant from “Bernie!”
At the Democratic National Convention, Silverman had said to “Bernie-or-bust” people: “You’re being ridiculous”. As they pointed out, Franken has “been #ImWithHer” this whole time, while Silverman has been “feeling the Bern”, but now they’re both happily throwing their support behind Clinton.
Boyz II Men performed on the convention stage, while Grammy victor Alicia Keys, who founded a social justice organization called We Are Here, appeared on a panel on criminal justice reform and civil rights.
Franken, the Saturday Night Live cast member-turned-Minnesota senator, spent the majority of his DNC speech poking fun at Donald Trump, especially the controversial real estate school Trump University.
“Bernie!” from the Sanders supporters clashed with “Hill-a-ry!”
“I got my doctorate in megalomania studies from Trump University”, Franken joked of his qualifications.
Sarah Silverman brought a much-needed dose of laughter to the Democratic National Convention on Night One, July 25. But once it became clear that he was not going to win the nomination, Silverman said that she was going to cast her vote for Hillary Clinton.

Monday’s starting evening of the DNC have been significant because of its booing Bernie Sanders followers, who vented their disapproval at Clinton everywhere from road protests towards the conference floor. Think about it, Dems: would you rather start a Bernie-style revolution under a president like Clinton or a president like Donald Trump?
