DNC head resigns over WikiLeaks email dump

Wasserman Schultz’s departure follows an uproar over the almost 20,000 emails released by Wikileaks that revealed efforts were discussed by party staffers to seemingly undermine the candidacy of Sanders, the Vermont senator who was runner-up to Clinton in the Democratic presidential campaign.

Opponents held signs saying “Emails” and similar things.

Sanders is set to speak to the entire convention Monday night.

Walsh declined to comment on speculation whether the leaked DNC emails were hacked by the Russians, but said he had no problem with Schultz taking a top post in the Clinton campaign. Will there be boos when they mention Hillary, will Wasserman Schultz provoke any additional problems?

Wasserman Schultz will be stepping down as DNC chair after the convention, but on Monday morning, she said she will maintain an active role as a Clinton campaign surrogate. And a little bit of interest from the press.

“There is a basis to believe Russian state actors passed some of the stolen material to Wikileaks to influence U.S. policy towards Russia”.

“But I think the vast majority understand what’s at stake and are going to be pragmatic about how this convention comes out”, Wisniewski added. Already on Sunday, hundreds of Bernie Sanders supporters gathered to march through the city center. “Right now we have got to defeat Trump, we have to elect Hillary Clinton”, he told ABC News.

Sanders recently endorsed Clinton; however, the email scandal may change his mind as the convention carries on.

For Clinton delegates, however, it’s time to move on.

“I thought that the Bernie people were rude, obnoxious and didn’t allow for the discourse to allow Debbie to speak”.

“I will tell you that as I walked around the streets and invaded their space and I got a couple odd looks”, she told the crowd, “and a few choice comments as well”. Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine made their first public appearance together a day after the Clinton campaign announced Senator Kaine as the Democratic vice presidential candidate.

Supporters of Clinton said her Washington credentials showed she had the experience needed for the White House during troubled times as the United States tried to speed up its economic recovery and faces security challenges overseas. “Going forward, the best way for me to accomplish those goals is to step down as party chair and the end of this convention”. Others want to focus on the platform and the future, rather than these leadership issues.
