Hillary Clinton clinches historic nomination; Bill to share the spotlight
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton addresses the Democratic National Convention via a live video feed from NY during the second night at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S. July 26, 2016. Clinton won more than 2,800 delegates, well above the 2,383 required to win nomination and making the roll call a formality. The Washington Post reported Tuesday that the Clinton campaign was looking into ways to further involve her one-time primary competitor, Vermont Sen.

Although the outcome was a foregone conclusion, the state-by-state vote saw rowdy displays on the convention floor.
Meanwhile, Sanders made surprise appearances at several state delegation gatherings on Tuesday morning, echoing his message that Donald Trump “is a disaster”.
Clinton has been attending Democratic conventions since 1972, when he was a long-haired law student backing South Dakota Sen. Civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis of Georgia is among the politicians attending the rally.
Minutes earlier, former President Bill Clinton took on the role of devoted political spouse, declaring his wife an impassioned “change-maker” as he served as character witness.
“There is obviously more than four days’ work necessary to heal all the wounds, and everybody accepts that”, said Clinton delegate Josep Carlson, 64, of MA.
The Democratic National Convention, hosted by Philadelphia, runs until Thursday.
“We have to show a little class and let them be frustrated for a while”, Biden told CNN.
Earlier Tuesday, chaos broke out at a breakfast gathering of the Texas delegation when a Sanders delegate said he and others are “condemning” Clinton – remarks that spawned a 15-minute verbal battle between Clinton and Sanders delegates and that the man later retracted.
Sanders meanwhile called on his supporters to get behind Clinton.
One speaker who drew no protests was first lady Michelle Obama, who provided a passionate appeal on behalf of a the former first lady “who has the guts and the grace to keep coming back and putting those cuts and those cracks in that highest glass ceiling”.
Sanders is a Brooklyn native who fared well in NY, garnering 42 percent of the primary vote in April to 58 percent for Clinton, who lives in Chappaqua, Westchester County. He says they hack both government systems and private systems.
“This election is about which candidate understands the real problems facing this country and has offered real solutions – not just bombast, not just fear-mongering, not just name-calling and divisiveness”, Mr Sanders told the convention in a lengthy speech in which he highlighted some of the accomplishments of his insurgent campaign. That perception that was reinforced after the Federal Bureau of Investigation director’s scathing assessment of her controversial email use as secretary of state, even though the Justice Department did not pursue charges.
“She didn’t get angry or disillusioned”.
But she said this election is about issues and she will support Clinton.
While it was a moment of triumph for Clinton, it was also a time for pride in defeat for Sanders.
“Our first task is to make sure that Hillary Clinton is elected our president”, Sanders said to an ovation.
Phillips and Wilson said some of the Sanders delegates have gone to work for other candidates running for office in Oklahoma.
“Bernie’s presence has been felt in a big way”, said Ramirez-Rosa.
The proof was thousands of national party emails exposed by hackers and released on Sunday by WikiLeaks.
