In Pics: Remembering India’s Missile Man APJ Abdul Kalam

“Dr Kalam will live forever in our minds and hearts”. It is hard still even to believe that Dr Kalam passed away. After his inventions for the Missiles, he came to known as a Missile Man.

The Missile Man’s death witnessed a huge outpouring of grief across the nation.

One year since the country lost its People’s President, the students with whom he spent his last moments remember him fondly and strive to achieve the vision he shared for creating a liveable planet by planting trees.

The event was attended by a host of dignitaries.

APJ Abdul Kalam, 83 years old collapsed and died from a cardiac arrest on 27th July 2015, While delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong.

Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu, Manohar Parikkar, Pon Radhakrishnan laid down the foundation stone of Dr Kalam National memorial at Rameswaram today.

The inauguration of an exhibition named “Mission of Life” depicting the life of Kalam and his achievements towards nation building will also take place later in the day.

“It is to tell the future generation that such a great person was born in this pious land”, Naidu said. Abdul Kalam. Published by Penguin Random House, the book gives readers a look into Kalam’s life and shares rare anecdotes and unseen pictures of the Bharat Ratna awardee, PTI reported. Today we all miss the “People President” APJ Abdul Kalam.
